Apple iPhone SE 4 will reportedly sport a 6.1-inch display with a notch

Apple is reportedly in the midst of manufacturing the fourth-generation iPhone SE and it may not be as compact as its predecessors. According to a new insight by Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young, the iPhone SE 4 is likely to feature a 6.1-inch display with a notch.

That is considerably bigger than the third-generation iPhone SE which uses the iPhone 8’s body and features a 4.7-inch screen. In fact, the iPhone SE 4’s alleged screen size is even bigger than the iPhone 13 mini which sports a 5.47-inch display. Hence, if this rumour is true, it means that the days of the iPhone SE being a compact phone will be over.

According to MacRumours, Young’s prediction also meant that the iPhone SE 4 will feature Face ID, whereby TrueDepth camera arrays will be present inside the notch. This would make the upcoming iPhone SE the first of its lineup to feature Face ID and may also ditch Touch ID as the home button is likely to be removed with the addition of the notch.

Hence, it is likely that the iPhone SE 4 will be utilising the body of the popular iPhone XR but with updated internals. With the recycled design and an LCD display, Apple can keep the prices down but still retain exceptional performance with a newer SoC inside the device, just like how the tech giant has been doing in previous iPhone SE devices.

Of course, do take this information with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet. Well, we just have to wait for the iPhone SE 4 to be unveiled to find out.
