Apple is bringing 'new features' that are already on WhatsApp to iMessage

When it comes to chatting apps, most people in Malaysia would recognize WhatsApp and WeChat as the superior ones. In other countries, they also have their own favourites with apps like LINE, Tencent QQ and many more. However, some of the Apple users would still prefer iMessage over the other third-party apps, with its extra cool features like Animoji and Memoji to express yourself. Now, it is rumoured that there are a few new updates coming to the platform which will make users’ lives easier.

First, the chat platform will probably let you tag someone in a group chat to let them know you are talking to them directly in the future. By typing ‘@’, the names of the contacts will show up for you to find your peace of mind in a chaotic group chat. We know that this feature has been available on WhatsApp since don’t know when, it is funny to see iMessaging is only now planning to roll out.

More than that, users will also be able to retract messages after sending them out in the coming update. This shocks me as well knowing that the platform still doesn’t offer the feature yet. Although this is not really some important features for chat apps, at least we will still get to delete something awkward that we’ve sent out to save ourselves. Hope Apple will bring this to the users as soon as possible.

It is also said that Apple is going to bring some good old times back by letting the users type commands like ‘/me’ in its messaging app. The command is used to show broadcast IRC-style notification to the others. Why is it old? Is it because the feature has been on Mac since there was still this thing called 'iChat'.

These updates are speculated to come as early as iOS 14. Let us know what you think about these new features for iMessage on iPhones. Stay tuned to TechNave.com for more cool tech updates.
