Recently, we reported on the introduction of ‘Lockdown Mode’ in iOS 16 by Apple which is an extreme but optional security feature that will block the ‘most sophisticated digital threats’. Well, it looks like the tech giant is pretty confident on the new feature that it has announced a USD2 million or ~RM8.91 million reward to anyone that can crack the mode.

As reported by IT Home, the reward is the industry’s highest bonus and is meant to encourage outsiders to crack the Lockdown Mode. Furthermore, if anyone was able to actually hack into the security feature, Apple would then be able to patch the weakness and make it even secure. A win-win situation.

Lockdown Mode is meant to protect users from Trojan horse and monitoring by unknown sources. When turned on, the feature will block image attachments and link previews in most iMessages, block iPhone data and more.
