According to a report by Korean media outlet DealSite, Apple is said to have given in to Samsung’s RAM offer despite a 100% price increase. That said, what should you know about it?
Apple didn’t even haggle at all
For your information, Apple executives who met with Samsung representatives immediately agreed to the asking price without haggling. Samsung executives were surprised that they only wanted to raise the price by 60% and put the 100% increase as the starting point for final price discussions.
Additionally, this is beneficial to Samsung as they and a few other companies are the only manufacturers of LPDDR5X RAM in the world. So it is not surprising that Samsung Device Solutions' revenue, which produces RAM, increased by 565% in Q4 2025 compared to the same quarter last year.
Besides that, it is worth noting that the Galaxy S26 series launched this morning is RM200 more expensive than the Galaxy S25 series due to high demand for RAM. So, it is not surprising that companies are willing to do anything to ensure that the supply of RAM is not interrupted.
