Apple is slowing down your older iPhones on purpose

As time goes by, so as our smartphones. We don't need to tell you that all smartphones will perform slower in time, but Apple just wants you to know that if you think your iPhone is getting slower, you're right and they did it on purpose. Say what now? Before you go on being a keyboard warrior, hear them out what they have to say about it.

It was only just recently that Apple said that a software feature that was released last year was designed to make your iPhone operate slowly. But why? Well, it's because it's to deal with the lithium-ion battery. As you should know, batteries only have an average of three years and the older it gets, the more problematic it becomes such as not charging well, battery juice dropping faster than usual and others. In other words, the battery won't be able to keep up with the processor speed, resulting shutting off by itself.

So to solve this problem, Apple simply included a better power management software feature to deal with the issue in iOS 10.2.1, as this will prevent the older iPhones from shutting down by itself in terms of cold temperature condition, a low battery charge or super old batteries. Just so you know, this update is applied to iPhone 6 series, iPhones 6s series and the iPhone SE, this feature will also be added to the iPhone 7 series with iOS 11.2.

Sounds like a good intention to us, but maybe it's just another way of saying "Please buy our newer models" (lol). Stay tuned for more Apple news at TechNave.com.
