Apple may be skipping a foldable iPhone or iPad to release a 20-inch foldable MacBook instead

Foldable phones are pretty much becoming normal now, but how about a foldable screen on a laptop? According to popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is apparently working on a 20.3-inch MacBook with a foldable screen and may release it in three years.

In Kuo's Twitter X's post, he mentioned that he received many inquiries about Apple's plans to develop a foldable iPhone or iPad in the next two years. Kuo replied in his latest survey that the only foldable Apple product is the aforementioned MacBook and it's in the development schedule. The mass production should enter in 2027.

Besides Kuo, other industry analysts Ross Young and The Elec news media from Korea also reported the same possibility. With that, it's highly likely that Apple is not looking into a foldable iPhone or iPad anytime soon. For context, Apple did have a 17-inch MacBook Pro before it was discontinued in 2012. A foldable screen MacBook would mean when unfolded fully, the measurement is around 20 inches diagonally.
