There are a ton of social messaging apps online, but not all of them allow you to edit your message if you did a typo. That might change for Apple iPhone users though, as recently the company just filed a new patent application at the US Patent and Trademark Office for that. This includes editing sent messages and improved application launcher.

If you're using iMessage, we understand your annoyance that we can't edit our wrong sent messages. From the leaked image, it seems to imply that there will be a pop-up menu showing "Show Edits" when press-holding a message, alongside copy, delete and more. Besides that, the patent also mentions "new Application Management Interfaces" which means that we could see some new changes on the iMessage user interface.

In addition, the patent submitted was also described as "a messaging user interface of a message application". Sources say that this includes acknowledging and displaying private messages, synchronizing the content viewing between users, translating a foreign language, and finally, combining messages. This should improve some features such as the iMessage special effects.

As far as we know, the only social messaging app that allows editing messaging is Telegram. Anyway, it will take a while for this update to come soon so stay tuned for that. Stay home, stay safe and look out for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
