Apple may not have plans to unveil any new hardware at WWDC 2020

As the name suggests, the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is an Apple event that's mostly about software. Despite that, many tend to expect at least some hardware to be unveiled at the event. However, it's possible that there may not be any hardware reveals at this year's WWDC.

Apple has unveiled hardware at WWDC before, with the Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR first revealed at last year's WWDC. This year, many were expecting to see a redesigned iMac, the AirTags, AirPods Studio, and a new Apple TV. But according to MacRumors, multiple sources have claimed that there's a chance that this year's event may not feature any hardware at all.

Jon Prosser (Front Page Tech) and Max Weinbach (XDA Developers) both tweeted about this possibility, though they did say that they might be wrong this time. Also, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg believed that hardware won't be announced until later this year. If that's the case, then all of Apple's new hardware could be launched alongside the iPhone 12.

Considering that even the leakers express doubt about the news, it's best to take this rumour with a grain of salt. Having said that, what do you expect to see during WWDC 2020? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
