Apple may put the Action Button on the entire iPhone 16 series lineup

The iPhone 15 series doesn't seem to have many upgrades but one of the prominent features was the Action Button. This feature is only available on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, though, but that might change for the iPhone 16 series next year.

According to sources, there is evidence of Apple integrating the Action Button for the iPhone 16 series lineup. This includes the vanilla iPhone 16 and possibly the iPhone 16 Plus, a move made similar to how Apple expanded the Dynamic Island to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus when it first debuted on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

That's not all. The internal documentation revealed that the Action Button will have more functions and will be revamped as a capacitive-type button. Under the codename Atlas, it may function similarly to the Touch ID back then on older iPhone models or the Force Touch trackpad on newer MacBooks. In other words, it would be touch-sensitive instead of a physical button.

Furthermore, the Action Button could also make its debut on the iPhone SE 2025. However, all of the information on the document is still in pre-production and may not even pass the green light. So we should take it with a pinch of salt but then again, we won't be surprised if Apple does it since it happened to Dynamic Island.
