Apple may release iPad keyboard with a trackpad in 2020

There are some people who consider tablets like iPads as mini productivity devices, which is why an external keyboard can be useful sometimes. For Apple, a keyboard that has a trackpad is even more useful and could be something the company is working on. Sources claim that Apple may launch such a keyboard along with a new iPad that is scheduled to be released this year.

According to The Verge, Apple is likely planning to reveal a new keyboard with a trackpad for the next iPad Pro that is expected to launch this year. A keyboard like this would be great for people who want to use an iPad for productivity, allowing them to use the tablet as if it were a miniature MacBook. Currently, iPadOS already has support for a mouse in place, though you'll have to manually enable the on-screen pointer in the accessibility settings menu.

If this catches on, Apple could start adding more apps of functions to iPads that were previously only available on Mac PCs or laptops. It could even expand mouse support to other apps that are already available. Having said that, we are unable to verify the truthfulness of this particular rumour so do take it with a grain of salt.

But let's assume such a keyboard would be coming this year for a moment. Would you want one and is it enough to convince people to use an iPad for work-related tasks, instead of a pricier Mac computer?
