We have talked about the rumoured Apple Car before but it's been quite quiet until now. According to sources, Apple seems to plan on launching its electric vehicle by 2026 for under $100,000 for the masses. It's said to feature self-driving mode as well.

Based on past news, Apple initially thought of designing a car where passengers could face each other because there won't be any steering wheel or pedals. However, there is a change of plans as the driver seat is back but full autonomous driving won't be available, reports said.

In terms of pricing, Apple's original plan for the Apple Car was over $120,000 but scaled back to $100,000 more or less so that it's competitively priced with the likes of Tesla. Reports also say the Apple Car design should be finalized by next year and have a blueprint of features ready by 2024. Test driving should begin in 2025.

At the time of this posting, Apple has yet to find a manufacturing partner for its Apple Car. The company did have negotiations with Hyundai and Kia before but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore, so as with Volkswagen.
