Apple's venture into the electric car business might have now come to the next step. According to DigiTimes, the tech giant is meeting with Toyota to establish its new supplier network for the highly-anticipated project. Last month, sources claimed that Apple representatives have also met with South Korea's SK Group and LG Electronics for the same purpose.
It has been a long long time since we heard the news about Apple developing its own electric car. At one stage, it seemed like the company has totally dropped the project and focused on autonomous vehicle software instead. Until now, we can finally believe that it's still on the path to introduce us to its very first "Apple Car".
Other than that, Reuters also claimed that Apple is aiming to begin production in 2024. However, due to the pandemic, it might get pushed further to 2025 or beyond. Furthermore, a person who spoke to the media has mentioned that Apple's upcoming car battery technology will wow us like "the first time you saw iPhone", which makes it even more intriguing.
