Apple might be thinking of manufacturing its own TV set

No, we are not talking about the Apple TV 4K device but an actual TV set by Apple. Will it happen? Well, according to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, he said the company has been evaluating the possibility and “may revisit the idea of making an Apple-branded TV set”.

If the rumours are true, Apple TV may not follow in the footsteps of already established players such as Samsung, Sony and others. Gurman mentioned Apple could be designing a Google Nest Hub-like device but an iPad device that can be mounted on a wall. This unknown device could integrate with other Apple devices with homeOS and a smarter Siri thanks to Apple Intelligence.

Speaking of that, Apple seems to be interested in smart home technology recently. Last month, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo heard of a possible smart home Internet Protocol camera product equipped with Apple Intelligence. On top of that, the company is reportedly working on an advanced HomePod model to be bigger, as big as two iPhones placed side by side.

There could also be a more premium iMac-sized HomePod controlled by a robotic limb that moves the display and follows you around the room. Steve Jobs apparently dismissed the idea of an Apple TV but it was a rumour around 14 years ago. He claimed there was no market for it back then, but according to his biographies, there was a plan for an "integrated" Apple TV plan.

Of course, if Apple encounters some issues and hardware failure like the ill-fated Apple Car, then an Apple TV would not see the light of a tunnel. So take this news with a pinch of salt and just wait and see what Apple does next.
