According to Bloomberg, Apple might delay the launch of its smart home display. That said, what should you know about it?

This is not a new development for Apple

For your information, Apple is reportedly developing a smart display that will consist of an iPad screen placed at the end of a robotic arm that rotates according to the user's movements. This is not new because rumours of the development of a smart display with a robotic arm have been circulating for the past two years.

Additionally, Apple might have done this to give Siri with enhanced features a chance to launch first. The development of this smarter Siri has been delayed for over a year because it did not meet Apple's own standards. It will only launch this year with the help of Google Gemini integration.

In Gemini, a similar feature has been launched as Personal Intelligence on Pixel and Galaxy S26 devices in the US only so far. With Personal Intelligence, Gemini will eventually become an AI agent that can make purchases and order self-driving vehicles with just the user's voice commands.

Moreover, a smarter Siri needs to be launched because it will be the backbone of several future Apple products, such as smart glasses. Without it, complex voice command features would not be possible.
