Apple may do away with an October event this year due to the lack of new products to launch during the timeframe. Instead, the devices that are touted for launch next month such as the new iPad Air may just be announced via a press release and website update.

This is according to the reliable insider regarding everything Apple, Mark Gurman who revealed the matter in the MacRumors Show podcast. According to the publication, Gurman said that Apple is unlikely to release any iPad models on 12 September during its “Wonderlust” event, as it will only focus on next-gen iPhones and Apple Watches.

Moreover, Gurman added that Apple is working on an improved iPad Air with improved specs that may launch in October. He further elaborated that no iPad Pro models will be released until next year.

No MacBook series refresh is also expected, or at least not many new releases, hence that’s why Apple may do away with the traditional October event this time around. Of course, do take this with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed yet.
