The iPhone X (pronounced as 10 like the Roman numeral) is Apple's first ever iPhone to feature full display but that's nothing new since most smartphone manufacturers are already doing that. However, what Apple did again was removing the Touch ID which is the security standard for devices to have. To compensate for the lack of fingerprint sensor, they introduced Face ID - the new standard and future of biometric security. Yes, that's not new either, but they probably have perfected it.

The Face ID relies on the new front TrueDepth Camera system, setting up is easy as it requires you to simply move your face to let the camera scan your face then you're set. Thanks to the A11 Bionic neural engine - the first of its kind - Face ID scans your face so well that it can even unlock in the dark.

Setting up the Face ID

Also, the machine algorithm will learn and adapt on how your face changes, whether if you're wearing a cap, glasses, or growing a beard, it will still recognize your face. But what's even more impressive is that it rejects pictures, masks (like the ones from Mission Impossible series) with face data protection. According to Apple, there's a one in a million chance of a random person unlocking your Face ID, which would have to be your twin.

An Animoji demo, the cat emoji is following what the person (bottom left) is expressing

Another impressive feature is Animoji which stands for Aminated Emoji. Animoji allows you to create your own Animoji with a selected emojis. For example, if you choose a cat emoji, it can follow your facial exact expression from frowning to laughing, as well as recording your voice! TrueDepth Camera system also supports Portrait Mode and Lighting Mode (beta) using studio-like lighting effects.

With the home button gone on the iPhone X, Apple has designed the user interface to be as simple as it can be for users. You can tap on the screen once to wake up, swiping up goes Home from off-screen or app, swiping left switches to other app, swiping up and holding it opens up the apps, and the shortcut menu is at the top now instead of the traditional bottom. The display is also fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating and there's a dedicated Siri button too.

Next, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus still looks more or less the same as the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus but with glossy glass reinforced by steel sandwiching the Aerospace-grade aluminum body. But with that being said, together with the iPhone X, the three new iPhone now has wireless charging and in the future, more businesses will begin to support wireless charging by using Qi chargers. We think the wireless charger accessory will be a separate item, as no price was mentioned.
