Apple recently unveiled two new 35W Dual USB-C Power Adapters during WWDC 2022, the company’s first charger with dual output. Now that orders of devices launched during the event are beginning to be delivered, Apple has posted new support documents for each device, including the aforementioned 35W Dual USB-C Adapters.

According to the support document which can be found here, the adapters are able to charge two devices at the same time. However, the amount of wattage received by both devices being charged will be different based on the device’s type and power requirements.

For example, when you connect a Mac notebook and and iPhone or iPad, both devices being charged will get the same 17.5W charging or the adapters’ 35W capacity being split evenly. The same is also the case when you charge and iPhone and an iPad at the same time.

However, if you connect a Mac notebook or iPhone and iPad together with an Apple Watch or AiPods, the former will receive up to 27.5W while the latter will only receive up to 7.5W. Hence, if any of your power-hungry devices such as MacBooks need faster charging, you have to unplug other devices and allow the adapter to only charge that particular device at one time.

Apple has two 35W Dual USB-C Power Adapters available for purchase right now. The first type is a standard version available worldwide with a removable plug head while the other is a compact version only available in countries with a Type A plug style such as the United States.

In Malaysia, Apple has the removable plug head version available for purchase for RM239. However, as of the time of writing, the adapter is yet to be in stock, though you can always check availability via this link here.
