Apple rolls out iPadOS 16.1, iOS 16.1, watchOS 9.1 and tvOS 16.1 updates to all supported devices

Apple has finally released the highly anticipated iPadOS 16 update for supported iPads which brings with it many new features and improvements from the previous version. Since the initial release was skipped last month, the update comes in the form of iPadOS 16.1 and is rolling out at the same time as iOS 16.1. watchOS 9.1 and tvOS 16.1. 

Among the new features that support iPad users can try out with iPadOS 16.1 are improved multi-tasking with Stage Manager, new iMessage features (edit, undo, send and mark conversations as unread), smart tools for Mail, support for iCloud Shared Photo Library, a Weather app and a new security and collaboration features for Safari. As for Stage Manager, do note that it will only be available for iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd generation and newer, iPad Air 2020 as well as all iPad Pro 11-inch models.

As for iOS 16.1, it comes with various bug fixes as well as refinements. With the update, supported iPhones also get access to iCloud Shared Photo Library, Live Activities from third-party apps on the Dynamic Island and lock screen, Fitness+ without an Apple Watch, key sharing in Wallet, Clean Energy Charging and support for the new home connectivity standard Matter. 

Moving to the watchOS 9.1 update for supported Apple Watches, it comes with various bug fixes as well as new highly-anticipated features. Users of the Apple Watch Series 8, Watch SE 2022 and Watch Ultra can now have extended battery life during activities such as outdoor walking, running and hiking. Besides that, users can now download music while their Apple Watch is off the charger using WiFi and cellular as well as have support for Matter.

Matter support has also been added to tvOS 16.1, with the latest update also bringing a new design for Siri. Moreover, there is also support for shared photo libraries and Apple Fitness+ without the Apple Watch.
