If you're an Apple iPhone user, you would find unlocking your iPhone to be a hassle because of the face mask. Thankfully, the company is working on that and according to reports, the new iOS 13.5 beta will focus on the Face ID as well as "detecting" COVID-19 exposure for the outbreak period. By the way, there's also a new iOS 13.4.1 update patch but we will get to that later.

Not that your iPhone will automatically unlock with your mask on, but rather, the new update will straight away bring you to your passcode page instead of trying to identify your face via Face ID. Prior to this, this process would take up to 15 seconds for the passcode option to appear. Not to mention, taking off the mask would be quicker but you have to put it back on again is a hassle. As an iPhone user myself, this is a much welcome update in the future.

The other feature found in the iOS 13.5 beta is the COVID-19 Exposure Notifications. What this does is that your iPhone will use Bluetooth to "detect" if you've been exposed to the virus via sharing and collecting nearby devices with random IDs. You can choose to anonymously share your COVID-19 diagnosis as well.
