WWDC kicked off this week, and many coders and developers have started getting their hands on the Apple toolkits. Recently, developer Steve Moser discovered a hidden reference within the iOS 26 codebase about the AirPods Pro 3.

Refreshed Design and Other Upgrades

According to the code, the new AirPods Pro?3 will feature a redesigned, slimmer look, mirroring Apple’s recent approach with the front-facing capacitive button seen in the AirPods?4 and concealing the status LED. Under the hood, the earbuds are expected to include a faster audio chip, promising enhancements in Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and overall audio quality.

The code also hinted at a notable step forward in wearable health tech, which the AirPods Pro?3 may incorporate in-ear heart-rate monitoring and eardrum temperature sensing. Earlier reports also mentioned potential support for on-device translation features powered by AI.

What Comes Next

While Apple hasn't made any formal announcements, these internal clues strongly point toward an official reveal this fall. It has a strong possibility during a special media event or alongside the iPhone?17 series launch.
