Apple officially unveiled the Apple iPhone 16 series yesterday, with Malaysia being 1 of the first countries to get the device thanks to the Apple Store officially being in Kuala Lumpur. During the presentation, Apple revealed that the new iPhones support Qi2 and Qi charging, with the new MagSafe charger offering faster wireless charging for the devices and now, we’ve gotten more information about the latter.
According to the official Apple Malaysia website, the new MagSafe charger is offered in 1 or 2-metre options and provides faster 25W charging compared to the 15W of the previous iteration. This makes MagSafe charging even faster than the wired charging on the iPhone 15 series and older with the regular Apple 20W power adapter.
The bad news is, the faster wireless charging speeds are only available for the iPhone 16 series, as older models are capped at 15W. Furthermore, you also need at least a 30W USB-C power adapter to get the 25W charging speed on the new MagSafe.
The listing further revealed that the new MagSafe charger can charge your iPhone 16 series up to 50 per cent in 30 minutes when paired with the 30W power adapter. In Malaysia, the new MagSafe Charger is priced at RM219 for the 1-metre variant and RM249 for the 2-metre version.
