Apple's new patent hints that future MacBooks could come with retractable keyboard

Based on a statement by patentlyapple.com, it seems that the future MacBooks could come equipped with a retractable keyboard which allows the laptops to be much thinner than usual. In terms of how the mechanism functions, the keyboard of the laptop will extend out when the lid is lifted and retracts when the laptop lid closes.

While the design sounds unique and innovative, durability is still an issue due to the fact that moving components are more likely to exhibit wear and tear compared to non-moving parts. With all that said, do take every bit of information with a grain of salt due to the fact that Apple has yet to provide a statement on the leaks.
