If you are familiar with Apple Watch, you might know that the Ultra variant usually features a different design compared to the standard unit. The same can be said about the upcoming Ultra variant. This time, a leaker reveals a few interesting things about the new Ultra Watch.

According to the images on FCC via ParrotSWD on X, this variant features flat glass covering the display, reinforced buttons, and a black ceramic back to match the titanium finish. As you could expect, the Ultra Watch will sport a titanium body.

Interestingly, the usual Ultra variant sports a grey ceramic back. This is a significant difference compared to the images on FCC. We could assume this is the variant that Apple had in mind before its global launch.

Moreover, it is not uncommon for Apple to send their prototypes to the FCC to be tested. After all, these devices need to be tested and certified months before their launch. Apple did the same with the iPhone XS when it the company sent a gold iPhone X prototype to the FCC.

So, the colour change might have been a last-minute minute decision. Besides that, the Action Button has been redesigned too. Initially, the button looks like it's made of plastic rather than metal.

We have yet to confirm more details on the device or if Apple has any plans to release this variant. At this point, it seems likely that we will never see it on the market. But hey, it's Apple, you can never write off any possibilities.
