It has been a while since the first wave of Apple Intelligence was released. However, one of the complaints by iOS users is the way how it summarises news in the notification centre.
To solve this issue, iOS 18.3 will clarify notification summaries better but users can also opt to disable it for an app entirely. All they have to do is visit "Options" and then tick "Turn Off Summaries" there. It is noted that Apple is giving a heads-up to users that notification summaries “may contain errors". Also in the same update, Apple will use italicised texts to distinguish notification summaries from normal ones.
In addition, Apple temporarily disabled the notification summaries feature for all apps in the News and Entertainment category. The company will re-enable it again in the future when this Apple Intelligence feature gets refined with a software update.
iOS 18.3 is currently in beta today, whereas the public beta version is expected to be released next week. However, we still have to wait and see when it will be available to the general public.
