Despite the Apple iPhone 14 series only getting launched recently, we already have news about the next-generation iPhones. According to reputable tipster Ming-Chi Kuo, the upcoming iPhone 15 series will have an 'Ultra' variant, which will be the most powerful iPhone in the lineup.

It's said that the Pro Max variant will get renamed Ultra next year. The reason for doing so is that Apple wants to distinguish the Pro and Pro Max even more, as the company doesn't want the Pro Max to be just a bigger version of the Pro model. The tipster also mentions that the Ultra model would provide exclusive features or even superior components in 2023.

We all know that Android OEMs have been doing this for a long time. Samsung has the Galaxy S22 Ultra, while Xiaomi has the 12S Ultra, and so on. Therefore, Apple might have decided to follow in their footsteps in the future. Besides launching the iPhone 14 series, Apple had also debuted the Apple Watch Ultra as a rugged Apple Watch. It could signify the plan's beginning to diversify its product line by adding more powerful models.
