Apple will add a yawning face, guide dog, new couple combination emoji and more this year

In conjunction with World Emoji Day (yes, apparently it's a thing), Apple will be releasing more new emojis in the fourth quarter of 2019. From food to smiley faces, there are approximately 59 new additions which include a parachute, skunk, prosthetic arm, onion, and more couples holding hands, and many, many more.

At first glance, it seems odd to have these new ones but Apple's justification is to celebrate diversity in all its many forms with new emojis. Take for the Holding Hands for instance, as users will be able to choose any combo of the skin tone and gender, up to 75 possible results (more or less). Then there's the disability-themed emoji, such as a new guide dog, hearing aid, wheelchairs and others.

You can also count on new items and food in the collection. The new emoji addition will come for free via iOS software update for the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, which will probably be introduced in September when Apple reveals their latest iPhone 11 series. Which one of these new ones is your favourite? Mine is the yawning face. Let's discuss and stay tuned for more Apple news at TechNave.com.
