Apple will reportedly launch 2nd-gen AirTag with a new chip and improved tracking in mid-2025

One of the most popular tracking devices out there, the Apple AirTag will reportedly be refreshed by the company in mid-2025. This is according to famed Apple insider Mark Gurman, who also revealed details about the next-gen AirTag. 

According to MacRumors which sourced Gurman’s “Power On” newsletter, the new AirTag has the codename “B589”. He added that Apple is currently completing manufacturing tests with partners in Asia for the new tracker. 

Gurman further claims that the 2nd-gen AirTag will feature an upgraded chip and enhanced location tracking capabilities. he touted the next-gen tracking device to launch in mid-2025 as per Apple’s release timetable.
