Apple has long been rumoured to produce a foldable iPad, with many sources predicting it to be released in 2024. The latest of which is from reliable tipster Ming-Chi Kuo who agreed with the release time-frame and even went a step further by claiming that the foldable iPad will come with a carbon fibre kickstand.

Taking to his official Twitter account, Kuo asserted that the foldable iPad will have an “all-new design” and its production will benefit Anjie Technology, a polishing and bonding supplier for the kickstand. Moreover, the tipster said that Apple chose carbon fibre as the kickstand’s material because it is lighter and more durable.

Besides that, Kuo also predicted that there will be no new iPad releases in the next 9 to 12 months, with iPad shipments in 2023 that may see an up to 15 per cent decline year-on-year. He further elaborated that this is because the iPad mini refresh is more likely to begin mass production in the first quarter of 2024.

Of course, do take this information with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet. Well, if it turns out to be true, then it’d be interesting to see what the design of the foldable iPad would look like.
