Two years ago, Apple was sued by a Gizmodo writer for claiming that the film Tetris, starring Taron Egerton and directed by John S. Baird, copied his book The Tetris Effect: The Game That Hypnotized the World. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, the suit was filed after Ackerman shared excerpts from the book with The Tetris Company and found that the film's storyline was similar to the book, but Ackerman was threatened not to produce the film himself. Recently, Apple has reportedly won again. The court ruled that the Apple Originals film titled Tetris is no similar to Ackerman's excerpt from his book because the storytelling is designed differently. The presentation of the story is also different. The only similarity is in the facts, which is not a problem for use on Apple TV.

Moreover, this is not the first time Apple has won a lawsuit over Apple Originals content. Previously, the TV series Servant was also claimed to have been copied but was successfully proven not to be. Cases like this often happen when the popularity of movie A's collection is not enough, but movie B's collection with the same concept and storyline is selling well - the creator of movie A will try to sue the creator of movie B.
