Apple’s latest entry-level laptop, the MacBook Neo, is seeing overwhelming demand just weeks after its launch, with supply struggling to keep up across multiple markets. According to reports, the device has effectively sold out through April, with shipping delays stretching into May as Apple works to replenish inventory.

Demand Far Exceeds Expectations

The MacBook Neo has quickly become one of Apple’s most successful recent launches, particularly among first-time Mac buyers. Apple CEO Tim Cook previously described the product’s debut as the company’s “best launch week ever” for new Mac users, highlighting strong interest from those entering the Apple ecosystem for the first time. The surge in demand has prompted Apple to significantly revise its production targets, now aiming to ship around 10 million units in 2026, up from earlier estimates of 5 to 6 million units.

Affordable Pricing Driving Mass Adoption

A major factor behind the strong demand is the MacBook Neo’s aggressive pricing strategy. Starting at around $599, it is the most affordable laptop Apple has ever released, making it especially appealing to students and budget-conscious users.

In Malaysia, it starts at RM2499, which is also very affordable. This lower price point comes at a time when many PC manufacturers are increasing prices due to rising component costs, further strengthening the Neo’s value proposition.

Supply Constraints and Delays Emerging

Despite strong sales, supply constraints are becoming a key challenge. Limited availability of components, including chips, has contributed to stock shortages and longer delivery times. Some configurations are already sold out, with new orders facing delays of several weeks, depending on region and retailer availability.

Strong Momentum Signals Long-Term Potential

With demand continuing to outpace supply, the MacBook Neo appears to be more than just a short-term success. Did you have trouble getting the MacBook Neo as well? Let us know on our social media pages, and stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
