With the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 series set for release in just a few more weeks on 2 February, 2:00AM Malaysian Time, Samsung has not forgotten their Galaxy S22 Ultra. Featuring Samsung’s Nightography, One UI 5 and more, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is apparently the only device being used to shoot an upcoming short film called Jackals & Fireflies by Charlie Kaufman.

While the release date of the film itself has yet to be revealed, Samsung does show an official trailer of the Jackals & Fireflies short film along with a behind-the-scenes video. If you didn’t know already, Charlie Kaufman has directed a number of mainstream films including Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovich and has won various film awards including an Academy Award, 3 BAFTA awards and more.

Granted, the film still gets edited and shot using professional film-making equipment and techniques but it does show what a professional cinematographer can do with a smartphone like the Galaxy S22 Ultra. It promises much more for its successor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra which you can catch on the Samsung Malaysia YouTube, Samsung Malaysia Official Website, Samsung Malaysia Facebook and Samsung Malaysia Newsroom. You can also register your interest at www.samsung.com/my/unpacked/ for updates and an RM200 e-voucher.
