Today, BYD launched its second electric vehicle (EV) in Malaysia. Promptly called BYD Dolphin, there are two variants of the EV (Dynamic Standard and Premium Extended Range) and the starting price is RM99,900. Meanwhile, the latter costs RM124,900 only.
That being said, sources say that these two prices don't include any on-the-road (OTR) fees. So the actual total fee without insurance is both RM100,530 and RM125,530 respectively. Despite this, the BYD Dolphin Dynamic Standard is the second most affordable EV you can get your hands on in the Malaysian market.

It's reported that the Dolphin will have full incentive benefits from the government until the end of 2025, but with the exception of import duty, excise duty and road tax, as it's fully imported from China. Moreover, each EV variant is covered by a six-year/150,000-km factory warranty and eight years/160,000 km for the battery. The motor, motor controller, DC assembly and electric control assembly also have a warranty for eight years/150,000 km.
In terms of colour schemes, the Dynamic Standard will be available in Urban Grey and Sand White, whereas the Premium Extended Range will come in Atlantis Grey/Delan Black roof, Surf Blue/Urban Grey roof and Ski White/Urban Grey roof options.
