Today, BYD and Sime Darby Motors have officially launched the BYD SEAL. As an all-new electric sedan car, it comes in two variants - Premium and Performance at the price of RM179,800 and RM199,800, respectively.
The BYD SEAL is the first model equipped with CTB (cell-to-body) technology. This integrates Blade Battery into the EV's structure for stability and safety under diverse conditions. Coupled with iTAC technology, it elevates driving dynamics, minimising or potentially eliminating skidding.
Furthermore, the BYD SEAL is also equipped with e-Platform 3.0 and the world's first mass-produced 8-in-1 electric powertrain system to optimise space utilisation and energy efficiency. It also stands as the first model to embrace a rear-wheel-drive architecture, which embodies a new era of automotive design, rooted in the "Ocean Aesthetics" philosophy.
In terms of specifications, the Premium and Performance AWD variants sport 19-inch alloy wheels boasting 235/45 R19. The iTAC intelligent torque adaptation control system ensures optimal performance in varying driving conditions, while the 50:50 front and rear axle load distribution ensures a more balanced and responsive driving experience.
Boasting an ultra-low wind resistance of 0.219Cd, the BYD SEAL delivers an NEDC driving range of up to 650KM*, ensuring long journeys with minimal stops for recharging. Its acceleration is from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8* seconds, while its fast-charging capability of up to 150kW. Moreover, it also has 400L of boot space and an additional 50L under the bonnet, presenting a bold stance at 4800mm long and 1875mm wide. There is also a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen in the cabin and integrates with the BYD App.
Exclusive to the Performance variant, it only comes in Arctic Blue, whereas the Premium variant has Cosmos Black, Atlantis Grey, and Aurora White. The first 800 bookings will enjoy complimentary wall box charges and free Gentari or ChargEV charging credits worth RM800 (TnC apply). There are also two service packages - Standard and Plus as offerings for tyre alignment, balancing and rotation.
