Several cities around the world have begun using robo-taxis, vehicles that automatically drive to users' destinations based on bookings on an app. This allows the service to run around the clock and not rely on human drivers. So, what should you know about it?

Baidu is currently leading the Robo-taxi industry

For your information, one of the companies leading this arena is Baidu through its Apollo Go service. Most recently, Baidu announced on 31 October 2025 that it had reached 250000 weekly bookings for robo-taxis. This also shows the increasing use of robo-taxis and the openness of users in using them.

Baidu currently operates in only a few cities in China, and also plans to offer services in other countries. Apart from Baidu, a company that also offers more or less the same service, there is Waymo, a subsidiary of Google, which operates in the United States.
