Samsung hasn't made headsets since the Gear VR days

As you know, Samsung introduced its latest Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy Book3 devices at the recent Unpacked event. But did you know they also teased a mixed-reality headset? Well, sources have found a certified component for the product. So, could it be launching soon than expected?

According to Galaxy Club, a new battery part for a Samsung device was certified in South Korea recently. Bearing the product code EB-BI120ABY, it's believed that this is the battery for Samsung's upcoming mixed-reality headset. This indicates that the headset could run without being plugged in, which suggests that it connects wirelessly. It should also be noted that the battery looks quite small, so its capacity might not be that high.

It's a pretty small battery, so maybe small capacity too

Since Samsung is already sourcing for parts, the company could be planning for a launch sooner than later. Mind you, Samsung has allegedly been working on the model number SM-I120 device for some time. And this is claimed to be the device that the new battery corresponds to. It's possible that Samsung still has much R&D to perform, so there's no guarantee that we'll see a launch anytime soon.

Having said that, would a Samsung mixed-reality headset be something you'd be interested in? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news about it.
