To go online, we all rely on either broadband or mobile Internet. In recent months, we've listed what we thought were the best options for both categories under certain budgets. But what if you wanted a combination of both? That was a question that's been posted by some people on our team and our readers.
Since there are a few local telco companies that offer such combos now, it stands to reason that people would be interested. With that in mind, we decided to find out which combo could be great for Malaysians. Check out our list of the best broadband and mobile prepaid combo for the budget-conscious for Q1 2023 below!
Best broadband+postpaid combo under RM100/month
Because it's a combination of two plans, you can expect the cost to be higher than just signing up for one mobile plan. But the great thing about these combos is that some would offer awesome rebates. Thanks to that, it's not impossible to find a good deal that would fit a tight monthly budget.
Digi probably has the most flexible options among the telcos currently offering such combos. The company's fibre broadband page has a selection slider, which lets you pick any home fibre and mobile postpaid plan available. According to the Digi website, you can get a 300Mbps home fibre plan and the 60GB (or higher) postpaid plan for RM100/month, an amazing deal if you live alone or have a small family. It's also the only option with a total monthly fee that's within RM100, so check it out if you're trying to keep your monthly expenses low.
Digi Fibre 150 + Digi Postpaid 90 (RM100/month) - 300Mbps, free WiFi-6 router, free installation, 60GB 4G data, free 5G booster, unlimited calls, free 300 SMS, bonus 10GB Quota for 12 months, RM50 x 24-month rebate, 24-month contract
Best broadband+postpaid combo under RM200/month
For most combos, you're going to have to pay more to get the next best deals. Specifically, you're going to be looking at the under RM200/month category. Here, there are three options for Malaysians to choose from, each from a different telco company. They're also priced differently, so you can decide on what to get based on your budget.
In this category, the Digi Fibre 190 and Digi Postpaid 120 combo has the best value. It offers 500Mbps home fibre broadband, plus a mobile postpaid plan with 105GB of high-speed data (and free 5G) for RM130/month. That makes it an excellent choice for people with a lower budget.
Alternatively, the Celcom Home Fibre 300Mbps with Celcom MEGA 80 combo could be the better choice if you don't mind paying more. At RM199/month, you get a 300Mbps home broadband connection, 40GB of high-speed data, and more. Those who prefer the reliability of Telekom Malaysia can also consider the Unifi Home 100Mbps plus UNI5G Postpaid 65 combo. The home fibre speed isn't as fast, but you get 6 months of 300Mbps upgrade, 10GB of wireless hotspot data (mobile), and 6 months of Disney Hotstar+ subscription.

Best broadband+postpaid combo under RM300/month
Do you have a bigger budget for your monthly broadband and postpaid bills? If so, the next category is the under RM300/month range. This category is suitable for large families with high bandwidth requirements. For example, if you have an extended family that's addicted to watching YouTube videos (I know quite a few), then having this much speed ensures that no one has to buffer their videos for long or at all.
The option with the best value is the Digi Fibre 290 with Digi Postpaid 150 combo, which provides a whopping 1000Mbps (1Gbps) home fibre broadband and 135GB of high-speed data. TM comes in next with its combos, offering up to 500Mbps of home broadband speed and 60GB of high-speed mobile data. Celcom's 500Mbps combo is slightly cheaper and offers 6 months of iQIYI VIP access or iFlix subscription instead of Disney Hotstar+. Finally, there's the Yes Wireless Fibre 120Mbps bundle. The speed isn't fantastic, but it's great if you operate from a small coworking space and need a secondary mobile plan for your 'office' phone.
