TCL and BlackBerry have officially announced their BlackBerry KEYone smartphone. Formerly codenamed Mercury, the KEYone packs an energy efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 4.5-inch 1620 x 1080 pixel resolution display, 12MP camera, 3505 mAh battery and QWERTY keyboard with a fingerprint scanner built into the space bar key tech specs in a 9.4mm thin body. Despite the small display it is quite heavy at 180g but this is perhaps due to the metal frame.
The KEYone will come with Android 7.1 Nougat and BlackBerry's DTEK security app along with the BlackBerry Hub communication feature. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details but BlackBerry are offering it at $550 (~RM2442) in the US starting from April. If it does come here, we expect distributor Brightstar to bring it in for a bit more than the US asking price.
