In 2010, Research In Motion claimed that the its Blackberry Torch 9800 was the "Best Blackberry ever", but it looks like that could soon be about to change. Enter the "Blackberry Torch 2 9810", RIM's next-gen slider smartphone with bumped up specs.
BlackBerry Torch 9810 - Design & Build:
Doubling the 624MHz CPU of the original Torch to 1.2GHz, the second-gen Torch is rumored to pack twice as much muscle under the hood. This will power its 3.2-inch 640 x 480 VGA touchscreen, which is coupled with a slide out QWERTY keypad. To make the most of its physical keys, it will also arrive equipped with Facebook and Twitter integration, a dedicated email client and Blackberry Messenger (BBM).
BlackBerry Torch 9810 - OS & Network:
Rumored to run Blackberry OS 6.1, the Torch 2 will arrive with integrated NFC smarts, enhanced 3D graphics, a revamped interface and improved multitasking. RIM's latest OS will also pack with support for WiFi tethering, enabling the handset to sync up to 5 connected devices to its 3G speeds.
BlackBerry Torch 9810 - Camera & Multimedia:
Although yet to be announced, the Blackberry Torch 2 is also expected to launch with a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, a front facing webcam, a built-in media player and HSDPA and WiFi speeds for browsing the web.
BlackBerry Torch 9810 - Battery & Memory:
Other specs include 8GB of internal storage expandable to 32GB, a 1300mAh battery and 14.6mm thickness. Once available, the handset will also be available in Silver.
Conclusion:
The BlackBerry Torch 9810 looks like a powerful mobile, but the sliding Qwerty keyboard makes the phone quite bulky. Unless you really want both a physical keyboard and a large touchscreen, other BlackBerry phones could suit you better.
