After four years of operation, Bluesky finally introduced an account verification feature with a special blue badge. Two types of badges are given, namely Trusted Verifier and Verified Account. Trusted Verifier is given to trusted organisational accounts that have previously added domain links using the account. These accounts are given a blue logo with a white badge in a toothed circle. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, a Verified Account is an account owned by an individual whose identity has been verified by a Trusted Verifier account. A Trusted Verifier account can grant Verified Account status to accounts owned by members of an organization or staff.
At this time, Bluesky has not yet opened applications for individual accounts to get verified. It will be given in the future only to accounts belonging to important individuals. Bluesky's verification process is the same as what Twitter used to use before Elon Musk sold it to anyone with money, causing serious identity fraud issues a few years ago.
