It has already been a few months since Bolt made its debut in Malaysia back in November 2024. This week, Bolt has officially rolled out Bolt Business in Malaysia, introducing a smarter, more transparent way for companies to handle employee travel.

What is Bolt Business?

Bolt Business was designed for businesses of all sizes. The service removes the need for messy claims and manual reimbursement processes, replacing them with a centralised dashboard, real-time reporting, and no onboarding fees.

Companies can set ride limits, assign cost centres, track trip usage, and generate automated reports — all within a single, user-friendly account. This streamlined approach gives finance and HR teams complete visibility over business travel while cutting out paperwork and simplifying expense management.

The platform is flexible enough to handle everything from daily commuting to meeting transfers and operational fieldwork, making it ideal for organisations that value both efficiency and cost control.

Supporting Businesses and Local Drivers

Afzan Lutfi, General Manager of Bolt Malaysia, said:

“We built Bolt Business to make life easier for both companies and their employees. A lot of businesses still struggle with messy claims and manual processes just to handle something as simple as a ride. With this launch, we’re giving them a smarter, more transparent way to manage travel, while creating more earning opportunities for local driver-partners.”

Since its Malaysian debut in late 2024, Bolt has expanded steadily across the Klang Valley, adding features such as toll-inclusive fares, the premium Bolt Executive category, and a rapidly growing driver-partner network. Bolt Business builds on this growth by creating consistent ride demand for drivers while offering companies a reliable, scalable travel management tool.

Other Information

During a short Q&A session, we also asked Afzan about the possibility and timeframe of expanding beyond Klang Valley, such as across the nation and East Malaysia. He said there are no plans yet as the company is focusing on refining its services in Klang Valley first.

On the other hand, we also asked if Bolt has any plans for introducing a membership reward programme for the customers. Azrani Rustam, Head of Public Policy of SEA, also replied to us that Bolt has nothing in store just yet, and it is just getting started in Klang Valley.
