Boost and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) have announced a partnership to create Malaysia's first "Cashless Campus". Utilizing Boost activated smartphone, 25000 students and faculty members of UTM Kuala Lumpur and UTM Skudai can pay for food at food courts and food trucks on campus via the Boost mobile wallet app.

The Boost app was developed by Axiata Digital and also offers rewards for vouchers bought for food and drinks along with mobile top-ups and other digital gifts. It remains to be seen how useful this actually will be in real life but this partnership should offer a testbed of sorts for Malaysia's push towards a cashless society.
