Alongside the monster gaming laptops, monitors and desktops the Predator line launched today, Acer surprised many by unveiling another compact yet powerful laptop. The Acer Swift 7 features some pretty impressive specs bundled into a super compact device weighing only 890 grams and thinness of only 9.95mm.
The design is aimed for on-the-go professionals with measurements of 317.9mm x 191.5mm, which Acer claims is at least 60% than other 14 inch laptops on the market. The bezels on the device measures at 4.27mm on the sides and 4.35mm on the top, giving the device a 92% screen to body ratio. The screen is a 14 inch LCD IPS touch display with impressive colour accuracy and a 178 degree viewing angle. The fanless design not only results in a more compact laptop but also keeps the laptop quiet and dust free.
Tech specs wise, the laptop features the 8th gen Intel Core processor (you can choose between the Intel Core i5 or i7) with 8GB RAM as well as PCIe NVMe SSD. It comes with an array of ports which include two Type-C Gen 2 ports that support 10Gbps transfer speeds. To protect users’ privacy, the laptop comes with a push to open camera placed right above the keyboard as well as a fingerprint reader with Windows Hello for easy logins.
Corning Gorilla Glass 6 is used for the screen not only for durability but also for better clarity and precision for gestures and swipes. Meanwhile, the touchpad is equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. As for its battery life, it has an impressive 12 hours on it. The Acer Swift 7 comes in two variants with the option of Intel Core i5 priced at RM5999 and the Intel Core i7 variant priced at RM7599. The laptop comes with a sleek looking leather protective sleeve and a USB-C converter. The Acer Spin 3 (2019) was also launched today, measuring at 14 inches with a FHD IPS touch display and a viewing angle of up to 178 degrees. Slim bezels measuring at 9.6mm gives the device a 78.9% screen to body ratio and the device comes with an Active Stylus certified by Microsoft. To ensure that the stylus is always charged and safe from getting lost, the laptop also comes with the stylus dock.
For its tech specs, the Acer Spin 3 (2019) is powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i3, 4GB RAM (with 1 slot available for upgrade) and a 256GB PCIe SSD.
