Google is planning a new feature that some may not appreciate. Reports say that the company is working on a feature called "Bubbles" that allows text messages to appear directly on a user's screen. It was originally added to a beta edition of Android 10 earlier this year but was not included in the stable release for the latest Android operating system.

If you're familiar with Facebook, Bubbles is supposed to be similar to Facebook Messenger's Chat Heads. Not only will text messages be sent straight to your device's home screen, but it should also enable developers to send push notification there. While not readily available to Android 10 devices, you can actually enable Bubbles from the Developer Options.

According to XDA-Developers, Google has been encouraging developers to test the API, which likely means the company is hoping to implement it in Android 11. Internally, the company has been testing this feature with its Google Messages app too. When a message is received, users will see a chat-head-style bubble pop up. This bubble can then be expanded to read the message or notification and reply to it when possible. Of course, this function can be disabled if you dislike it.
