Internet access in Malaysia still cannot be said to be perfect due to various cost factors. Through Budget 2025, the government provided RM220 million to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) to improve the quality of various educational facilities nationwide. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, the RM120 million fund is to improve internet access in public universities, schools, military camps and MARA institutions. Meanwhile, the remaining RM100 million is provided by SKMM for a period of 5 years to strengthen the function of NADI Centers throughout the country. The NADI centres could function as a community platform to increase income through online entrepreneurial activities.

“Nadi Centres are expected to play a crucial role in fostering digital entrepreneurship, particularly in underserved areas,” he said when tabling the Budget 2025 yesterday.

Anwar, who is also the finance minister, said the initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to empower local communities by providing digital skills and opportunities. We have yet to confirm other news. Hopefully, everything will go smoothly.
