As promised, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus have been revealed in Beijing, China. We got all the official full specifications, features and price tags thanks to the China sources online to witness it first hand. Without further ado, check out the details below!

- Measures 158.8 x 75.45 x 8.05mm, weighs 179.5g
- 5.99-inch FHD+ display (2160 x 1080 pixels)
- 12MP main camera | 5MP front camera (soft LED flash)
- MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat
- 4000 mAh
So from the tech-specs above, there's actually not much difference. Both are full metal, colours will be available in Black, Blue, Gold and Rose Gold. Sure, the displays are just a mere 0.29-inch difference but the screen-to-body ratio is the same 18:9. It should be noted that the capacitive touch buttons are not present, so users will have to rely on the on-screen buttons to navigate.
As for pricing, the Redmi 5 will start at 799 Yuan (~RM493, 2GB + 16GB), while the 3GB + 32GB model will retail at 899 Yuan (~RM555). Meanwhile, the Redmi 5 Plus' 3GB + 32GB model will cost a little bit higher of 999 Yuan (~RM617), whereas the 4GB + 64GB model is retailing at 1299 Yuan (~RM802).
