According to Bloomberg, several of ByteDance's major investors now value the company at over $400 billion. This valuation was also done by SoftBank in December 2024, and some investors are targeting the technology company at a value of over $450 billion. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, ByteDance is already popular with its TikTok offering, and it also has its own AI service offering in China called Doubao. The service itself has over 75 million users and is the leader in China. The service also uses lean development methods like DeepSeek, compared to other Western providers.
Interestingly, ByteDance's valuation is also done by setting the value of TikTok's operations in the United States at zero - that is, if the service were to be shut down in that country. And if the opposite were the case, ByteDance's value would likely be higher than $400 billion.
