CES 2015 is past and gone and while all the big brands have made their announcements and big showcases, there were actually quite a few smaller companies that caught our eye. True, some of them like the Polaroid Selfie camera are just copycats but they certainly offer a different angle on things. While we still don't support blatant copy-paste manufacturers some other devices from these smaller manufacturers caught our eye. They include the Saygus V2 which is a tech spec monster smartphone, the Hyperdon Smart Watch which is a $27 (RM95) Apple Watch clone and the Jide Remix Ultra-Tablet which is an Android powered Surface 3 tablet look-a-like. Check out their details below:

Saygus V2

Featuring a design entirely it's own, the Saygus V2 is a tech spec monster of a smartphone. These include a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB RAM, 64GB storage, 2x 128GB microSDXC slots and 5-inch full HD 1080p Sunlight Viewable display with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It also has a 21MP rear camera with dual LED flash and 13MP front camera and both cameras pack Optical Image Stabilization. There is also a dedicated camera shutter button. Features include a fingerprint side scanner, NFC, WiFi 802.11ac, Harmon Kardon Stereo speakers with 3 noise cancelling microphones, an IR blaster, 4G LTE support, Qi wireless charging and IPx7 Water proofing. It can Multi-boot and is likly shock proof to a certain degree as well. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details but you can pre-order at their site.

The Saygus V2 has all the features any smartphone could have

Hyperdon Smart Watch

Now, this is a straight-up copy-paste job of the upcoming Apple Watch. It looks the same, has the same knock-off icons and same big dial interface running on a cheap display with poor backlighting. It's one claim to fame is that it was sold from $27 (RM95) to $36 (RM127) whereas the upcoming Apple Watch will likely start from $350 (RM1243). Build quality is probably terrible but the Hyperdon Smart Watch does everything most smartwatches do including showing notifications and taking and answering calls. While we won't speculate as to Malaysia release dates or pricing you could probably see this being sold by third-party sellers here in the near future. Just don't be duped to buy it at Apple Watch pricing.

Jide Remix Ultra-Tablet

While we won't say it is a hundred-percent copy-paste job, but the Jide Remix Ultra-Tablet looks a lot like the Microsoft Surface 3 tablet, right down to the aluminum casing, keyboard dock and built-in kickstand. However, instead of Windows, it runs on Android 4.4.2 and a customized interface Jide calls Remix OS which also has a Windows-like taskbar. Tech specs include a 1.81GHZ NVIDIA Tegra 4+1 processor, 2GB RAM, 64GB storage 11.6-inch full HD 1080p display, up to 128GB microSD support, 5MP rear and front cameras and 8100 mAh battery. Measuring in at 189 x 295 x 9.5mm and weighing 860g, the tablet is WiFi-only but comes with a magnetic 5mm thin full-size keyboard and touchpad which doubles as a screen cover. Like always, there isn't any Malaysia release date but the ex-Google developers at Jide are estimating it at $449 (RM1595).
