It's CES 2018 news time and Acer has launched four new laptops namely a revamped Swift 7, Chromebook 11, a new Nitro 5 gaming laptop and a new Spin 3 notebook. Just before we dive into the details, all specifications, prices and availability may vary by region. With that being said, let's check the new Acer toys out.

Acer's Swift 7 is currently the thinnest laptop but this new one is said to be even thinner than before. The New 14-inches Full HD IPS Swift 7 (SF714-51T) is just 8.98 mm thin and also an always-connected PC running Windows 10 that is designed for mobility, with an ultraportable design packing a 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, all-day battery life of 10-hours and strong built-in Intel XMM 4G LTE connection. In addition, there's even an eSIM technology that allows download and activation of eSIM profiles and the data will be free and valid for a month for 48 countries including Malaysia (not much is said how that works, but we will let you know when it does come to Malaysia). Meanwhile, it also has 256 GB of PCIe SSD storage, 8GB of LPDDR3 memory and a fingerprint reader allows password-free and more secure sign-in through Windows Hello.

Next, the 11.6-inch Chromebook 11 (CB311-8HT / CB311-8H) offers an all-day battery life up to 10 hours in a portable and fanless design, so it’s great for users who will move the device around or use in shared spaces. Users will also be glad to know that it has two USB 3.1 Type C ports and of course, the Chromebook provides easy access to the Google ecosystem including Google Drive, Gmail, Google Play and a variety of useful Chrome apps and extensions. To add on to that, the Chromebook 11 features the latest Intel Celeron processor, 4GB of memory and 16GB or 32GB of eMMC storage, MicroSD card reader, Bluetooth 4.2.

Acer Nitro 5.jpg

For the gamers, the Nitro 5's IPS screen is 15.6-inch wide (Full HD) and it's powered by Windows 10, an AMD Radeon RX560 graphics card, 512GB worth of storage space, and a DDR4 RAM of up to 32 GB combined with the SSD. To control the heat from intense gaming, NitroSense utility allows the monitoring of the CPU/GPU, and adjustment of cooling fan speeds via Acer CoolBoost to keep them in optimal operation. Gamers can also enjoy the laptop's Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony technology, as well as the reliable dual-stream 802.11ac wireless technology, USB Type-C, HDMI 2.0, and Gigabit Ethernet.

There's also a refreshed Spin 3 (SP314-51) laptop, nothing much has changed as it's still the same flexible device that can turn into a tablet, display or tent mode with an 8th Gen Intel Core processor, 12 hours of battery life and a 14-inch FHD IPS display.
