CES 2022 ROG: Strix SCAR and Strix G returns with new colours, upgraded CPUs & GPUs

Continuing the barrage of new ROG products, ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) also introduced a brand new ROG Strix SCAR gaming laptop for hardcore gamers. Now powered by new tech specs, the Strix SCAR is available in not only one, not two, but three models based on display size. Read on below to find out more.

As expected, the 2022 ROG Strix SCAR is packed with up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU at 150 W with Dynamic Boost. A MUX Switch is also onboard to ensure top-tier GPU performance, alongside PCIe 4.0 x4 storage and DDR5 4800 MHz RAM. Hardcore gamers can also expect a high-refresh display, and ROG Intelligent Cooling with Liquid Metal Conductonaut Extreme.

As aforementioned, there are three variants based on display size. The Strix SCAR is available in 15-inch and 17-inch models, with the 15-inch offering three IPS-level display choices: QHD 240Hz, Full HD 300Hz, and QHD 165Hz. The 17-inch SCAR offers QHD 240Hz or Full HD 360Hz. All models support Dolby Vision HDR, Adaptive-Sync and 3ms response time for the best visual experience possible.

On top of that, the new ROG Strix G15 and G17 are powered by up to an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU at 150 W with Dynamic Boost. The G15 offers Full HD 300Hz and QHD 165Hz display options, while the G17 offers Full HD 360Hz and QHD 240Hz. Similarly, all Strix G models support Dolby Vision with 3ms response times and Adaptive-Sync. The Strix G also comes in Eclipse Gray as well as two neon colour choices, Volt Green and Electro Punk, which will stand out from the crowd.

Last but not least, all Strix models are equipped with a quad-speaker design and Dolby Atmos spatial sound. The hardcore gamers can also rely on the two-way AI Noise Cancelation to filter out background noise. In addition, Strix models come with a 90 Wh battery, plus 100W USB Type-C charging, WiFi 6E and 2.5G LAN.
