Don't enjoy your music cutting off because you forgot to charge your earbuds? That's becoming less of a problem as brands release new models that last longer. In fact, Audio-Technica has unveiled a new ATH-CKS50TW2 TWS earbuds boasting an ultra-long battery life at CES 2025 this week.
A successor to the ATH-CKS50TW released in 2022, the next-gen ATH-CKS50TW2 boasts a maximum battery life of 65 hours. The earbuds alone provide up to 25 hours of battery life on a single charge, while the charging case has another 40 hours of battery available. Of course, this estimation is with the active noise cancelling (ANC) disabled. With AND enabled, users have an estimated total battery life of 40 hours instead (15+25).
Besides the longer battery life, the ATH-CKS50TW2 uses a new Magnetic Switch Technology to help save battery. It allows the earbuds to magnetically connect, which then causes them to automatically switch off. When you want to listen to music again, disconnect the earbuds from each other to turn them back on. This is useful if you don't want to carry the charging case around or want to commute light with the earbuds in a shirt pocket.
The Audio-Technica ATH-CKS50TW2 isn't available here yet, but it will retail in Singapore for SGD229 (~RM753).
